IELTS (the International English Language Testing System) tests the capacity to read, listen, write, and speak in English in a professional setting where English is required. The test is divided into 4 sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking.
Test takers must sit in all the four sub-tests. While all take the same Listening and Speaking tests, they sit different Reading and Writing tests, depending on whether they have selected the Academic IELTS test or the General Training IELTS test.
